Matt Kaufman is a partner at Hathaway & Kunz, LLP, law firm based in Cheyenne, Wyoming. For the past decade, Matt and his firm have been at the forefront of developing innovative legal and policy solutions for Wyoming's burgeoning digital asset ecosystem. His expertise extends beyond policy leadership to include the representation and advising of countless digital asset companies and projects, encompassing regulated financial institutions, decentralized governance entities, and industry pioneers.

In 2017, Wyoming Governor Mead appointed Matt to the Wyoming ENDOW Council, tasked with crafting a new twenty-year economic diversification strategy for the State of Wyoming. Additionally, Matt was appointed by the Wyoming Supreme Court to assist in the establishment of the newly launched Chancery Court. In 2018, Matt's expertise was further recognized with reappointments by Governor Mead and subsequently by Governor Mark Gordon to the Select Committee on Blockchain, Financial Technology, and Digital Innovation, where he continues to serve today.

Matt also works as a General Partner with BXE Capital, a globally recognized private digital asset investment fund based in Denver, Colorado.

Matt’s academic credentials include a B.A. and J.D. from the University of Wyoming and an LL.M. from the University of Colorado.
